Beauty from ashes you might say. However, a piece highlighting and aiming to address certain political and economic concerns in Africa.

The Africa we had grown up in had been plagued with certain issues that we had and still naturalize as a common phenomenon but such could be pruned off and allow our much-desired growth as a continent of hope and glory.

This piece also signifies what the political cartoons in the ’80s and 90s dailies meant to kids of then, where we ( the kids) lacked the full understanding of the socio-economic climate as reported in the news but found the caricatures and cartoons of the dailies interesting in the myriads of seemingly boring accompanying texts. Not when Daddy keeps buying them on a daily instead of the comics we (the kids) yearn for.
